Title

Letter from Dr. H.B. Wilbur to Mrs. Mary Thornton dated January 8th, 1866

Description

In the last letter of the James Thornton Correspondence collection, Dr. H.B. Wilbur writes to Mrs. Mary Thornton, this time to ask for an update from her rather than give one himself. Wilbur asks about Jimmy (James) Thornton and how he is doing since leaving the asylum. Wilbur asks quite a few specific questions, including “What is his state of health?” and “What does he do and how does he amuse himself?”. Wilbur also writes that he was talking about Jimmy to someone the other day and wishes to hear from him again. He ends the letter with “What has become of Jimmy Thornton, as we used to call him?”.
