Title
Wall Street Charity Fund Pamphlet
Description
The Wall Street Charity Fund originated in 1972 by a group of businessmen and women within the securities industry concerned about the treatment of people with intellectual disability in America. It was formed as a direct result of a WABC television expose about Willowbrook by Geraldo Rivera on the poor and inhumane conditions at several institutions. The Wall Street Charity Fund was one of the major fundraisers for One to One, an organization dedicated to providing alternatives to institutionalizing human lives. Both were vital in providing grants for decent housing and living conditions for people with intellectual disability released from institutions.
