Title

Letter from Dr. John Johnson to David Jaquith

Description

In July 1968, Dr. Johnson wrote to Mr. Jaquith expressing his concern that the Syracuse Board of Education was planning to create special classes for so called disturbing or disruptive children. Johnson provides rationales as to why these special classes do not work, including a lack of trained teachers and that these classes are ineffective and more costly. He unequivocally advocates that special classes not be established for these students.
